The Tin Man

Well, I'm back and in case you hadn't heard... I had an anniversary. (Hence, my week long absence.) We were very blessed to take a trip to Carmel (sans the monster) and it was a blast. Here's a few highlights...

Needless to say, it was fabulous! But what really I wanted to show you was the coolest card that I found.

If you're into traditional anniversary gifts than you know that year #10 is aluminum. (Who picks these things, anyways?!?) We don't typically need any scrap metal, but I came across this vendor on Etsy who will imprint a short message on an aluminum card for you.

It's a little bit quirky and totally useless, but a sweet, sentimental gift and I love it! I even had our 10 dates...10 weeks...10 years added so we could remember the occasion.
Cheers,
Jessie

PS - It's quite possible that I'm the best wife ever... possibly.

To My Hootie

Happy #10, Hootie! It's been all I've dreamed of and so much more... who let us get married so young! We are beyond blessed and I cannot wait to see all God has in store for our future.  I love you,
Mama

10 dates...10 weeks...10 years

If you follow me on Instagram than you know that our 10 year wedding anniversary is coming up... as in THIS week!  Part of my gift to Hootie has been planning a series of dates over the last 10 weeks. As some of the older folks in the crowd may know, it starts getting harder and harder to make adults ONLY time with little ones running around plus all the other junk in your life - like jobs. :(

Anywho, I've had several questions about what I'm doing and how it works. So here's the basis...

#1. I started 10 weeks prior to anniversary by planning a date every week.  Hootie knows we are going on a date, but he doesn't know where and doesn't have to plan a thing. (Lucky dog!)

#2. Once we get in the car, he is handed a envelope with a clue to the night's events. I don't think he was amused that every envelope said 'Any guesses?' before seeing any clues. Plus, he was very concerned about how much I had spent in stationary & stamps for the project.

#3. All dates were based around either things we have talked about doing and never done OR things we used to do that aren't as easy anymore (especially with the Monster in tow).

#4. Sitters! People seem to be very concerned about this topic. At no point was the Monster left home alone. We have a wonderful KiKi & Shasha that helped a ton and we also have a few sitters on speed dial. (Amen to that!)

#5. Yes, I am a little tired of planning dates, but it has been well worth it. We got out of our box a little bit and were able to remember Hootie & Mama, circa 2003.

Unless, there are any more questions... I am headed to pack for an anniversary trip!

Cheers,
Jessie

Sit On It

It seems like things always seem to happen in clumps... why is that?  I have a couple of clients right now in need of accent chairs as well as my own search for our bedroom. (Not sure if Hootie knows that, but I guess he does now!)

Anywho, I've run across a few beauties as of late. So far no one has pulled the trigger, but who knows. Maybe one of you peeps could use an accent chair!

Clean lines with subtle pattern, but great visual interest.  Love it!

My general rule of thumb is if I would like to read a book and drink of glass of wine in a chair than it's a keeper... 2 check marks for this one.

Hello child size slipper chair! Yes, I do think you are the cutest!

Technically, this isn't really a stand alone accent chair, but it's sassy and think it would be a fab accent to any room.

I guess I have a thing for grey. It seems moody and sophisticated just like me... well, at least, the first part.

Serious flair and I heart it... will someone please buy it? I need it to find a good home.

Cheers,
Jessie
